Japanese Prison -or- I didn't get that job (that old refrain!!!)

Isolation.

My only reader has gone underground, and the outpost is feeling lonely.

I am among these creatures, but I don't understand their bizarre customs, or the rules they live by, or why they violate so many of the rules I have learned to live by.

Saw a guy beating his wife as she cradled his child. Called cops. They let him go without even taking down his name, or talking to the woman.

I never used to dislike cops.

Then I got fucked over by one, and now they make me very wary. The kinds of people who want to be cops should be denied.

Question #1: Do you want to be a police officer?

Recruit: Yes, with all my heart. It's what I have always wanted to be.

Interviewer: I'm sorry sir/ma'am, but we feel you are completely inappropriate for this position.

Recruit: Why?

Interviewer: Because no one who seeks power should be allowed it, ever. Now please leave before I am forced to shoot you in the face with a bullet I peed on.

If you are out there Aaron, you ARE the resistance. Keep your pencils sharp, and lock your windows after you've come in through them.
